In the Beginning...
WorthyLife Baptist Church of DC was founded as an extension of Berkland Baptist Church (BBC). Berkland Baptist Church was started in 1981 by Pastor Paul Kim and his wife, Becky JDSN, near the University of California at Berkeley. BBC is a member of the Southern Baptist Convention, has the vision to live out The Great Commandment to love God and love one another, and to join in The Great Commission of making disciples of all nations. Since 1981, God has faithfully enlarged the BBC family with churches around the world.

On April 21, 2002 we celebrated the start of WorthyLife Baptist Church (originally known as Berkland Baptist Church of DC) in the D.C. metro area. Just recently, on August 24, 2008, we began the Baltimore Chapel service near The Johns Hopkins University. We are a community of faith made up of young Asian-Americans and are led by Pastor Peter Lee and his wife Eunice SMN. We meet for worship service, Bible studies, and hold many special events.

Our mission is to raise up a people who, by embodying the truths of the Bible, can be living evidence that God is real and relevant to each of our lives. Together, we strive to be the kind of church described in the Bible with applicable teaching, heart-felt worship, honest friendships, fervent prayer, and compassionate care for those in need.
